When everything fails, we turn into philosophy. It could take us to religion/nature as per your orientation and provide explanation on how we accept the situations.
We move along the journey of life going thru ups and downs, happy and sad times, healthy and otherwise. Sometimes we see events that affect friends, relatives, or ourselves tragically. Money and support systems do help. However, at the end, the only thing that helps is philosophy.
How? Look at the song 'ponal pogattum poda' in 'Palum Pazhamum'. A philosophical way of accepting a tragedy! Kannadasan has helped us all with his philosophical ideas in many movies.
Every one is afraid of death and diseases. This fear also increases with age. It might probably decrease as we age too much. At that ripe age ridden with diseases, we might think - it is far better to die than going thru suffering of this unhealthy life. Here I am hypothesizing and speculating... It is no wonder that religious intentions intensifies as we age.
Sometimes the philosophical thoughts cloud our rational thinking- so there needs to be a balance. Too much of philosophy could turn us into pessimistic, idle, and unproductive.
Therefore, use the philosophical ideas wisely. They must be in your tool set to solve life problems.
After all, our lives are are as good as our tools, and how we use it!
